VT Voting TIme

Today began the first of two days for SGA elections on campus. After weeks of campaigning, the time has finally arrived for both the ticket and senator candidates to see if their hard work has paid off.

The two tickets running, SGA4You and unitedSGA have been campaigning on issues such as giving discounts to students who eat in the dining halls during non-peak hours, and tracking the Blacksburg Transit buses with GPS tracking so that students know where the buses are at all times.

In other VT news, ring dance was held this past weekend. It is a tradition that just hit its 75th anniversary, and consists of a banquet on Friday night and a dance the following Saturday night. Typically intended for juniors (since that is when they receive their class rings), it proves to be an enjoyable weekend for everyone, since all classes are permitted to attend the dance.

Thats pretty much all happening in Blacksburg at the moment, but I can assure you there will definitely be some interesting events in the following weeks.

Go Hokies!
