A “Tease”

We had such beautiful weather over the weekend!  I hope you were able to get outside and enjoy it.  :)   Yes, it was a taste of summer, or a “tease.”  When temperatures crack 80 degrees, I call that beach weather, and to me, beach weather = summer.  We almost broke the record high temperature on Sunday.  The record high was 82 set in 2000.  Our high temperature was 81.  The best thing about Sunday was that extra hour of daylight in the evening.  With the change back to Daylight Saving Time on Saturday night (and the loss of an hour of sleep), the sun set just after 7pm on Sunday instead of 6pm.  That combined with warm temperatures made it a perfect evening for grilling out.  Although it is never fun to spring forward and lose an hour of sleep (I value my sleep), the extra hour of daylight in the evening makes it worth it (at least in my opinion).

Today (Monday) has been a fabulous day too.  Temperatures again right around 80 degrees.  However, with the passage of a cold front, the temperature at Norfolk International Airport went dropped from 79 to 66 degrees in just one hour!  As soon as the winds turned into the northeast, temperatures took a nose dive.  Water temperatures are still in the 40s.  Temperatures will return to around normal tomorrow (middle 50s) along the coast, we’ll get another big warm weather tease on Wednesday, and then look for cooler and unsettled weather for the rest of the week.

Enjoy your evening!
