Half & Half

January 20th, 2009 at 12:59 pm by Jeremy Wheeler under Weather

We’ve had some good reports from viewers about snow.  It has been falling, but there are a LOT of people who have been missing out.  Norfolk and Virginia Beach are catching the dry air.  Southern Virginia Beach has had some light stuff.  We had some reports of snow stacking up on the Outer Banks and parts of Northeast North Carolina.  However,  even the National Weather Service has acknowledged that the dry air is winning over the southside.  Advisories have mostly replaced warnings there.  It is very sad.  A lot of people are upset as well as my son at home.  There is still a lot of snow showers out there, but the dry air mostly kept it out of Hampton Roads.  It’s not over yet.  Please send us reports if you can.  Sorry if you bought extra peanut butter and jelly to ride out the storm.  I hate models by the way.  I’ll update again this afternoon.

I am sad too. Looks like yet another non-event in Hampton Roads. Hopefully someday soon our luck will change. I was really hoping to get just ONE use out of the snowsuit and boots for my 2 year old daughter.

It’s always either too dry or 4 degrees too warm and then it rains. Maybe one of these days snow will return to SE VA. Four years without a good snowfall is just too long! But today we are all sad and disappointed. Thanks for all your hard work and the updates!

Two, Williamsburg didn’t call off schools
Three, this was right at final exams time
