If you travel through the tunnels regularly in Hampton Roads, you know when the busiest times are.  Well, a heads up–tunnel testing at most of the area’s tunnels could create some headaches at off-peak hours.

Crews will be inspecting fire extinguishers at the Monitor Merrimac from 7 to 11 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday night.

On Thursday, VDOT will close lanes of the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Sunday morning, VDOT plans to test the floodgates at the Midtown Tunnel.  So, you’re not going to get through from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m.
