Afternoon update (Coastal Storm)

September 25th, 2008 at 11:35 am by Jeremy Wheeler under Weather

We had a wind gust to 61mph at the Virginia Beach Ocean front a little while ago.  Winds have been gusty as expected.  Since the winds have come up, the tide is running about 3 ft above normal.  Upon talking with Jon Cash we think the next high tide will be about 7-10 inches above this morning’s high tide.  This is the update from a couple of inches that we forecast this morning.  This will create some problems as it is expected around the evening commute.  Be careful driving home especially on the side streets!
